About This Site

As an elementary teacher, I have the opportunity to teach a variety of subjects and incorporate technology in a variety of ways. I’ve always had an interest in this, but the cold, dark winters in Astana gave me an opportunity to pursue this area further. When it’s -40 outside, you need to find an indoor hobby. The IT specialist at our school was willing to teach me some web design and I spent most of the winter working on HTML/CSS and JavaScript. When I got back to the States in 2014, Chromebooks were beginning to make their way into the classrooms and I became fascinated with all the opportunities this open up in the classroom.

For the past two years, I have really delved into the use of technology in the classrooms and finding the most efficient and beneficial ways to use it. It is always a constant learning experience. Some days I feel like I am a first year teacher starting out for the first time, but I love every moment of it.

I decided to create this blog as a way to communicate and chronicle what I am doing in the classroom, not just with technology but all the subjects I teach. It is my hope that this blog will be useful to others and contribute positively to the educational community online.
