About Me

My name is Todd Nasife and I am a fifth grade teacher in Charlotte, NC. I use the elements above sometimes as an ice breaker with my students, and sometimes my parents to see how long it will take them to figure it out.  Some classes get it quickly and others it takes a while.  However, once they figure it out they spend a couple of days trying to see if their name can be spelled using elements.

I am originally from New Jersey and moved to Charlotte in 2006. I studied music for my undergraduate degree at Hofstra University and received my master’s degree in elementary education at the University of Pennsylvania.

I taught 5th grade from 2006 – 2011 at Villa Heights Academic Center. I went on to teach oversees and then returned in 2014. I am currently teaching 5th grade at Barringer Academic Center.

Some of my interests and hobbies are playing classical guitar and learning Russian. I also enjoy doing Tai Chi and studying Kung Fu with my daughter.

I taught 6th grade and music classes for three years at an international school in Astana, Kazakhstan.

My wife and daughter are from Tashkent, Uzbekistan. I got married when I was teaching in Kazakhstan and they finally immigrated here in December 2015.
I spent two years (2002 – 2004) in Taiwan teaching English at a small private school.
